Photo of the week: yellow iris

Santa Fe flowers

Yellow iris, photo Steve Collins

Santa Fe flowers bloom in hidden gardens all over the city. Irises are a sure sign that spring is in full bloom. This yellow iris was captured it the beautiful garden of Sena Plaza’s inner courtyard.

In Santa Fe photography is a popular pass time. You see a lot of cameras, from cell phones to point and shoot to serious professional grade equipment, the streets are full of people snapping away. If you have any great Santa Fe photos to share with us, let us know.

What a beautiful picture! One of my favorite things about being a newcomer to Albuquerque last spring and summer was seeing the different things that bloomed at different times… it seemed like every month there were different new colors everywhere I looked!

Payje-I hope you discovered the wonderful botanic garden while you were living there.

One of my favorite flowers. Don’t think I have ever seen a yellow one before. Very pretty.

Thanks, Ted! Irises do well here as long as they get enough water.
