Santa Fe just got one of the coolest art spaces in the world: Meow Wolf and their House of Eternal Return. Because it’s hard to explain this interactive experience that’s part haunted house, part fun house and part acid trip, we’ll let them do it. “Meow Wolf is an arts production company that creates immersive, multimedia experiences that transport audiences of all ages into fantastic realms of storytelling. Our work is a combination of jungle gym, haunted house, children’s museum, and immersive art exhibit. This unique fusion of art and entertainment gives audiences fictional worlds to explore.” More from the website: “The premise: Something has happened inside a mysterious Victorian house that has dissolved the nature of time and space. Venture through the house of The Selig Family, and discover secret passageways into fantastic dimensions!”

The experience was mind-blowing to say the least. There are surprises in every nook and cranny with lots of twists and turns. Be prepared to be amazed. I made it through the first floor- there’s a second as well, but I needed a break. I was on sensory over-load, but in a good way. We’ll post more about Meow Wolf in the future. It was a lot to process and there’s still that second floor to check out.

Visit Meow Wolf

Plan to spend a bunch of time or go back. One admission entitles you to come back as much as you want on the same day. Meow Wolf is open Wednesday through Monday from 10am to 8pm. On Friday and Saturday nights they’re open until midnight. With a bar and sometimes live music it’s more a time for adults than families.

Meow Wolf attracted over 25,000 people during it’s first three weeks of operation. Were you one of them?
